Think & Classify Animals
Begin with the Qur’anic verse that inspired this puzzle. Then invite your child to touch, name, sort, and talk about the animals. A few thoughtful questions can carry the learning well beyond the board.
Begin by listening
Listen to the ayah
Surah An-Nur (24:45)
Listen together, then look at the different ways the animals move.
Explore the puzzle
From hands to patterns.
Follow your child’s curiosity. One question at a time is enough; let your child move a piece, change their mind, and explain what they notice.
Hands
Sort the animals into the board’s three movement groups: on their bellies, on two legs, and on four legs. Let your child try first.
Words
Name the animals together. Point to the English and Arabic labels on the board, and choose a few words to say as you play.
Concepts
Ask, “Why does this animal belong here?” Invite your child to describe or show how it moves.
Patterns
What do the animals in each group have in common? Can your child think of another animal that belongs there?
Words · English and Arabic
Hear the animal names.
Point to a puzzle piece, say its name, and listen to the Arabic pronunciation together. Repeat only a few words at a time, following your child’s interest.

Ask one more question.
- Can you think of another way to group these items?
- Can one item belong to more than one group?
- How do you know your classification makes sense?
